Who We Are

Empathee is a non-profit organisation based in India, founded in Yavatmal, Maharashtra, in 2025. We are dedicated to bridging the gap for individuals and communities facing systemic social and economic disadvantages in India. Our name is a testament to our core conviction: empathy is not a passive emotion—it is a responsibility to act.

We listen deeply, respect lived experiences, and co-design solutions on the real-world needs of those we serve. By focusing on essential services, education, wellbeing, and sustainable livelihoods, we don’t just offer aid—we build pathways to resilience.

  What We Do

At Empathee, our work is organized into three primary focus areas. These pillars represent our commitment to addressing the immediate struggles of today while building a stronger foundation for tomorrow.

At Empathee, our work is organized into three primary focus areas. These pillars represent our commitment to addressing the immediate struggles of today while building a stronger foundation for tomorrow.

1. Zero Hunger & Full Nutrition (Nourish)

Inspired by the belief that no dream can be chased on an empty stomach, we provide immediate food support to those in crisis. Our approach goes beyond simple distribution—we focus on dignity and nutrition.

  • Community Kitchens: Establishing localized meal programs for daily-wage earners and homeless individuals.
  • Nutrition Kits: Distributing balanced ration kits to families facing seasonal or sudden economic shocks.

2. Education & Scholarships (Empower)

Education is the most powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty. Following the model of India’s most successful academic grants, we identify merit and bridge the financial gap.

  • The Empathee Scholars Program: Providing financial scholarships to bright students from low-income backgrounds to ensure they don't drop out due to fee burdens.
  • Learning Resources: Supplying essential kits—books, digital tools, and uniforms—to help students start their academic year with confidence.

3. Healthcare Access (Heal)

Quality healthcare should not be a luxury. We act as a bridge between vulnerable communities and essential medical services.

  • Health Screening Camps: Conducting regular check-ups for early detection of common ailments in underserved neighbourhoods.
  • Medical Assistance Fund: Providing financial aid and navigation support for individuals requiring diagnostic tests or specialist consultations that are otherwise out of reach.

Our Guiding North Star

Dignity over Charity

We view the people we serve as partners in change, not passive recipients. We honour their agency and expertise in their own lives.
Evidence-Based Impact

Good intentions aren't enough. We prioritize credible interventions, rigorously track our progress, and pivot based on real-world data.

Radical Transparency

Integrity is our currency. We are committed to absolute clarity regarding our governance, our fund utilization, and an honest account of our impact—including where we still have work to do.

WE WORK CLOSE BY THE FRONTLINE

War Trauma Reflects the Life of a Child for Decades

Since the beginning of war operations we have visited all the most dangerous places, have repeatedly been taken under fire and have the experience of front line life. We learn the information at first hand, and we are on friendly terms with children who have spent all their childhood next to the war.
